The Best Hair and Makeup at the American Music Awards

From Katy Perry to Miley (yes, Miley), see the beauty looks from last night's AMAs we might actually try ourselves this holiday season

Katy Perry
Before Perry hit the stage at last night's American Music Awards, she walked the red carpet with one of the best beauty looks of the night. Perry's classic makeup paired perfectly with her festive, full curls.

Makeup artist Jake Bailey, who created Perry's look -- and completely changed things up moments later for her Geisha-inspired opening performance of "Unconditionally" -- started by applying a sheer layer of CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation. For the eyes, Bailey used CoverGirl Liquiline Blast Eyeliner in Black Fire, Flamed Out Shadow Pot in Melted Caramel, and the new Bombshell Volume Mascara in Very Black. Bailey gave Perry a bold red lip using CoverGirl LipPerfection in Hot -- "classic Katy," he said.

Miley Cyrus
We loved Miley's (newly restored) bold brows and clean makeup.

Christina Aguilera
If you're looking for festive Snow Queen-inspired makeup for the holidays, call off the search. Xtina's gold glitter shadow and icy highlighted cheeks looked perfect with her black winged liner and glossy coral lip.

Taylor Swift
We totally dug the whole Farrah-Fawcett-feathered-hair vibe T-Swift was giving off last night. Throw in a soft smoky eye and light pink lip, and you've got a winning look.

Kelly Osbourne
Osbourne, who always manages to incorporate her edgy personality into her beauty look, rocked gold studded hair combs with her lavender braids.

The hairstyles and makeup looks at the American Music Awards are often over the top, extreme, or just plain weird. At the 2013 AMAs, however, stars looked surprisingly pretty and subdued -- even Miley Cyrus played it safe. The beauty looks were so good, in fact, that we're using them as inspiration for holiday parties. Flip through our favorites, and let us know which one you'd try. Sound off in the comments below.
