Woke Up Like This
Both Jennifer Lopez and Dianna Agron amped up the sex appeal on the red carpet with smudged, slept-in smoky eyes, natural lips and artfully unkempt hair.

To create Agron's look, makeup artist Georgie Eisdell evened out her skin with Kiehl's Skin Tone Correcting & Beautifying BB Cream in Light, and then lightly powdered with La Mer The Powder to remove shine.

For the eyes, he used Chanel Illusion D'Ombre in Diapason and Fantasme on the lid, blending it up into the crease and bringing it under the eye to create a smoky effect. He lined the inner rims with Tarte Pencil in Deep Amethyst for depth, followed by two layers of YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils Mascara.

Finally, Eisdell finished off her look with Kiehls Lip Balm #1 first, then Jouer Moisturizing Lip Gloss in Maui.

Fade Out
Curly girls tend to shy away from ombré, but Jordin Sparks demonstrated how great this trend can look on curls.

Classic Combo
Charli XCX brought vintage glam to the red carpet by going for a trifecta of classics: a liquid liner cat eye, a rounded red lip and retro waves.

Baby Steps
While many attendees went for statement-making beauty looks, Fergie opted for no-makeup makeup and let her on-trend babylights steal the show.

The year is quickly coming to an end, but last night, the American Music Awards gave us one last look at red carpet glamour before we settle in with turkey, pie and wrapping paper. Some of music's biggest stars slipped into slinky gowns, stepped into heels and served up some serious beauty inspiration for the holiday season. From dark, wine-stained lips and seriously smoky eyes to the perfect ombré and on-trend babylights, see the best beauty looks and hairstyles to walk the red carpet of the 2014 AMAs.
