If You Want to Disguise Gray Roots
Try: John Frieda Precision Foam Colour, $13

Roots can be hard to target, especially if your hair is very thick. This foam formula allows you to pinpoint smaller areas, like pesky gray roots, on textured, voluminous hair with ease. For the best coverage, make sure your hair is free of product build-up, and after applying the foam to your roots, try using your fingers (which should be in gloves, of course) to gently massage the area to create more foam to stamp out grays.

If You Want to Stay 100 Percent Natural
Try: Lush Henna Hair Dyes, $25.95

Stop squinting at label ingredients and cut out any lingering doubts by giving henna a try. Lush's 100 percent natural blocks are made from pressed henna, cocoa butter other natural pigments like ground coffee and lemon juice to dye hair sans chemicals. Simply break up the blocks and steep them in hot water until they have a batter-like consistency. Coat your hair and get ready to let it set for two to four hours.
