7 Fashion Icons, 7 Covers

The legendary supermodels each get an Interview cover of their own in September

September is the month when magazines pull out all the stops, and our multiple subscription fees finally seem worth it just to judge and compare the bible-thick editions crammed into the mailbox. Although I love my girl J-Law on the cover of Vogue and Sarah Jessica Parker looks her ever-so-glamorous self on the cover of Harper's Bazaar, Interview takes the cake with seven separate covers. Interview magazine's September issue, The Model Issue, features black and white covers of iconic supermodels from the 90s who started it all, including Linda Evangelista, Daria Werbowy, Kate Moss, Amber Valletta, Stephanie Seymour, Christy Turlington and Naomi Campbell.

Photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott shot the issue, on stands September 3. Stylists Karl Templar and Ludivine Poiblanc pulled together sexy leather and animal skin ensembles, along with plenty of water, to create the looks. That is, when they were wearing clothes at all (proving, once again, these ladies still have it). Daria Werbowy posed topless and straight on even though she told Interview, "Sometimes I am still surprised that I'm a model and that people think I'm good-looking." Apparently a decade of magazine covers is not as validating as one would think.

Linda Evangelista
Linda Evangelista has graced more than 600 magazine covers in her modeling career, but she confessed in Interview that her start in the business was a semi-catastrophe. "I took a modeling course in my hometown....It was sort of a scam....I was chosen by a Japanese agency to go over to Japan for the summer to work....They wanted me to take my clothes off and shoot me naked. It was a nightmare and I panicked and basically the Canadian Embassy helped me out." Side note: any girl considering modeling must watch the documentary Girl Model. It's horrifying.

Daria Werbowy
Along with admitting her dismay over the fact that people think she's good-looking, Werbowy also dished on different phases of her life she's gone through "morally and ethically." "I've tortured myself about it, especially in dealing with success and money," she told the magazine.

Kate Moss
Kate Moss shocked the fashion world when she revealed that she has an Instagram account with only, gasp, 25 followers! She also discusses not liking L.A. and being afraid of New York City. #LondonCalling

Amber Valletta
A girl after our own heart, Valletta told Interview about the simple makeover that changed her modeling career. "I cut my hair short and it basically changed everything overnight.... Nobody had short hair at the time," she said.
