I Did a 7-Day Sheet Mask Challenge (Because What Else Am I Supposed to Do?)

From brightening vitamin A masks, to three-step hydrating sets
Usually, I stick to gentler ingredients like hyaluronic acid and aloe, but my face was in need of a serious reset, so I decided to try this vitamin A- (aka retinol-) infused option.

Pros: The mask itself is printed with adorable beets, as well as the message "Beet of my heart," which makes it especially primo for #maskselfies. And yes, it did leave my skin looking particularly bright and even the next day!

Cons: It stung the tiniest bit, but only on areas where I'd, er, picked at my skin a bit. Which is definitely my fault, not the mask's.

This hyaluronic acid-packed mask is actually quite unique: It comes with a little capsule on top that you break to "activate" the mask. (The idea being that it keeps the ingredients more fresh.)

Pros: I'd read that Neogen masks have especially nice construction, and that was definitely true. The mask itself was sturdy and well-saturated with serum. The mask felt somehow especially decadent as it soaked my face with much-needed hydration.

Cons: The extra step of breaking the capsule — while super easy and user-friendly — might be a turn-off if you're feeling especially lazy.

I love hydrogel masks, so I was pretty excited when this one arrived at my desk. It had a fun, jello-like texture and came in two pieces for better fit and coverage.

Pros: First of all, who doesn't love rose gold? I also found this sheet mask to be quite dew-ifying, thanks to hydrating and brightening ingredients like glycerin and niacinamide. It also contains fun novelty ingredients like rose extract, collagen and gold.

Cons: While the wild rose fragrance was delightful, it triggered my seasonal allergies just a bit. But if you don't have terrible hay fever like I do, you should be just fine!

I may just have saved the best for last: This three-part mask was quite the joy to use. It comes with an essence (a K-beauty staple!), a sleeping pack and of course, the sheet mask itself.

Pros: Each step adds just the right amount of weightless, non-sticky hydration. I also loved how nicely the thin hydrogel mask adhered to my face.

Cons: Part of the reason I left this mask for last was because I was feeling a little too lazy to do three whole steps. But given how quickly absorb, this is actually more of a pro than a con — especially at $6 per mask!

Too Cool for School is one of my favorite K-beauty brands — its products are always equal parts fun and functional. This is a great, high-quality mask.

Pros: The mask construction itself is nice — it's textured with an S wave, which the brand explains is to help it adhere to your face better. You'll also find that the lime scent is refreshing and downright divine. Best of all? This mask basically made my complexion glow like the damn moon.

Cons: None!
