46 Shades of Gray

Because 50 Shades was already taken, and we're loving gray for fall (but we're picturing Charlie Hunnam naked, no matter what)

Greige -- everyone is putting this mix of beige and gray on their walls, but we'd rather wear it on our arms.

Buddy System
Fashion bloggers Bianca Venerayan and Danielle Roche made matchy-matchy look good this Fashion Week.

Tweed Greed
While we're not sure we could pull off tweed shorts in the office, we're loving the simple color palette designer Vivienne Tam used throughout her runway show.

What a Tulle
Soft gray keeps this look from being tutu sweet.

Raccoon Eyes Done Right
Surprisingly, these "up to the brow" smokey eyes (created by Charlotte Tilbury for MAC's purple and slate gray) don't make this model look like she hasn't slept in a week (though she probably hasn't). Maybe this trend can work our dark under eye circles to our advantage.

We're calling gray, patron color of gym class sweatshirts everywhere, the "it" color of the season -- Apple even announced "Space Gray" as the newest color for the latest version of the iPhone. From moody, almost-black charcoal to misty, barely-there hues, we are smitten with the shades of gray we're seeing everywhere -- from New York Fashion Week to Estee Lauder's eye-popping new metallic collection . Neither black nor white, this hue walks the line between striking and ethereal -- and we love it in every gradation. Called a fashion "palette cleanser" (by fashion people who use such terms), we think it's the perfect hue to transition into fall. So we rounded up 46 of the most striking shades of gray in beauty and fashion -- a bit of eye candy for the upcoming season.
