Day One Dirty Hair: The Halo Braid
1. Divide a 1 to 2-inch section of your hair horizontally from ear to ear.
2. Begin creating an inside out French braid from one ear, over the top of your head, and down to the opposite ear.
3. Braid the rest of the length of your hair down normally.
4. Take a 1-inch section of your hair from the side you started on and braid it normally down to the ends.
5. Then pull the single braid over to one side and join it with the first braid you made, creating a halo around your head.
6. Finish with a spritz of hairspray.

Day Two Dirty Hair: Twisted Top Knot
1. Gather your hair up in a high, taut ponytail at the top of your crown. Leave a three-inch section of your hair along the sides of your head loose.
2. Once your hair is secure in an elastic, tease your ponytail ends using a fine-toothed comb. Then wrap it around the base of the elastic to form a loose bun. Secure with bobby pins.
3. Twist the sections of your hair that are left loosely down through to the ends. Then, pull them up to your bun, twist them around, and secure them down using bobby pins.
4. Tug on your bun loosely to finish.

2. Slide a headband over the top of your head. Make sure to leave about an inch of your hair exposed at the top.
3. Gather your hair over to one side, then twist it down to the ends.
4. Wrap it in a circle to form a bun, then secure it using bobby pins.
5. Tug on it gently to loosen it, then finish with a lightweight hairspray.

Day Four Dirty Hair: The Fishtail French
1. Create a deep side part on one side of your hair.
2. Next, with the larger portion of your hair, begin creating a fishtail French braid until you reach the back of your ear.
3. Once you reach the back, continue fishtail braiding your hair to the ends. Then gather the rest of your hair into a low ponytail at the nape of your neck.
4. Fishtail braid your ponytail ends all the way to the ends. Then wrap them, along with the rest of the French braid, around the base of the elastic to create a bun.
5. Finish with hairspray.

When I ask my friends what one hair product they keep a Kung Fu grip on, nine times out of 10 I get dry shampoo. Why? Because what average gal religiously washes her hair every day and gives herself a fresh blowout?

Luckily for all of us, there is less of a stigma around dirty hair these days. Now, it's common knowledge that washing your hair too often can strip your scalp and hair of its natural oils. We also know that dirty hair holds curls and other trendy styles much better (and longer!) than clean hair.

But I have to admit, as a habitual rarely-wash/re-styler, it can get difficult to disguise the greasiness by day three or four.

Enter these hairstyles that are perfect for dirty hair. Not only do they disguise the inevitable greasiness that comes with unwashed hair, but they also work best with the texture that comes when it's been a while since you've shampoo'd. Keep clicking to get the step-by-step how-tos, then transform your own dirty hair by trying one of these cute hairstyles.
