Best Use of Pantone's Color of the Year
We were keeping an eye out for this year's color star, emerald, and we liked what we saw. With Mayim Bialik in Oliver Tolentino, Anna Chlumsky in Badgley Mischka, and Sarah Hyland in Carolina Herrera, the three ladies went all out in the green hue and matching accessories that now have us counting down the days until Christmas.

Worst Color Combo
It was a good effort, but let's face it, yellow is a tricky color to pull off, and it's going to be even harder for anyone to ever do it as well as Michelle Williams did at the 2006 Oscars in her canary Vera Wang gown. We didn't mind Anna Farris' dress, but the combo of her long, super blonde hair and bangs was just too much with the neon lemon gown.

Most Predictable
We know the thick, blunt bangs are Zooey Deschanel's signature so we'll let the same ol' same ol' hairstyle slide, but baby blue ... again? She may as well have re-worn the powder blue Reem Acra gown from last year's Emmys, lent this year's J. Mendel dress to Anna Farris, and called it a day.

Most Daring Eye Look
Lena Dunham isn't known for playing it safe, and she lived up to her risk-taking reputation on the red carpet. Sure, the bold print on her Prada dress definitely caught attention, but we think her killer eye look stole the show. A smoky eye isn't exactly groundbreaking, but we loved the bright pop of teal blended into Dunham's take on the look -- we couldn't take our eyes off of hers.

Most Likely To Make Kate Middleton Proud
Allison Williams took a page straight out of the Kate Middleton book of elegance, proving that less is more. In a simple yet stunning Ralph Lauren gown, and glossy waves that rivaled the Duchess of Cambridge's signature style, Williams was red carpet royalty tonight.

We have a soft spot for the Emmy Awards. It might have something to do with our (unhealthy) obsession with just about every television show airing this season -- "Scandal", "Homeland", "Breaking Bad", "Dexter", "New Girl", "Mindy Project", "Grey's Anatomy", "Modern Family" ... need we go on? Our morning-after office convos on why Olivia Pope needs to lend us her closet (a.s.a.p.), and how Jesse Pinkman sooo just needs to go ahead and give Walter White the axe, are the highlight of our day ... you know, right after beauty reporting and choosing the hottest nail polish colors for fall.

So you can imagine how seeing all our favorite TV personalities step out of character and onto the red carpet makes us giddy. Stalking their gorgeous hairstyles, flawless makeup, and super swanky red carpet gowns is the definition of Sunday Funday. So we'd like to give some superlatives to all those who made our ultimate best and worst lineup worthwhile.

Eyeing the Emmy's red carpet from first rollout, we saw some pretty spectacular looks that were a sight for trend tracking. With color choices that (thankfully) went beyond black and hairstyles that redefined the intricate up-do, there wasn't a dull moment. Check out the best celebrity hairstyles and makeup we thought deserved a round of applause ... and the ones we couldn't even give two snaps to.
