Swirl Bun
Remember those Hairagami scrunchies that let you create buns, swirls and giant S's on the back of your head? Well, this twisted bun replicates that origami look -- sans '90s vibe. It's perfect for the holiday and looks especially great on sleek straight hair.

1. Separate hair into two large sections, about halfway down the back of your head.
2. "Tie" the pieces of hair together like you would a shoelace, but without the bow.
3. Take the top strand of hair and wrap it around the center, creating a large donut shape around where your hair is tied. Secure that sucker with bobby pins.
4. Wrap your bottom strand of hair in the opposite direction, securing it around the already-pinned bun.
5. Lock the look in place with a firm-hold hairspray.

Ballerina Bun
Steal some inspiration from your local "Nutcracker" performance and show up to the next soiree of the season rocking a ballerina's classic 'do.

1. Create a sleek high ponytail at the top of your head, combing out hair so that it's smooth -- it needs to look on point (or shall we say en pointe?).
2. Next, tease thick pieces of your ponytail, until you look like Frankenstein's bride.
3. Once your hair looks nice and wild, take your bristle comb and smooth over only the top of the ponytail to eliminate the frizz. This smooth part will be the outside of your bun.
4. Wrap your half-smooth, half-crazy ponytail around your hair tie in a counter clockwise motion.
5. For a boost of volume, gently pull on the sides. Lightly brush with the bristle comb to smooth it out if necessary.
6. Secure it with bobby pins and a firm hold hairspray. Now you're ready to battle the Mouse King.

Braided Ballerina Bun
If the classic ballerina bun just isn't cutting it this year, frame it with a gorge braid.

1. You know the routine by now: Tie your hair in a sleek, high ponytail at the top of your head.
2. Place a toeless sock, foam bun donut or thick scrunchie (remember those?), over your hair tie.
3. Now take your pony and allow your hair to surround and cover the your bun-forming device of choice. Place a hair-tie over the hair (around the sock) to secure your bun, leaving the excess hair hanging out from the elastic.
4. Use that excess hair to create two sections and braid each of these.
5. Wrap the two braids around the base of the bun, and secure them with bobby pins and hairspray.
