Mineral or bust!

Your sensitive skin will wear mineral makeup well. Dallas-based dermatologist Dr. Erin M. Welch tells patients who are allergic to preservatives like parabens, quaternium-15 or isothiazolinone to look for mineral-based products because they typically do not contain these ingredients. Because "mineral products are generally non-comedogenic," Welch also notes that your skin probably won't throw a hissy fit. Another reason to get excited? According to Welch, "some mineral products contain zinc and titanium dioxide, which reflect away UV rays." But she cautions, "it's difficult to quantify how much sun protection mineral makeup actually provides." So prime your face with at least an SPF 15 moisturizer just to be safe. One word of warning: Some companies claim to be "mineral" but aren't 100 percent natural. On your quest for the perfect makeup, always read labels. The good stuff will list minerals (like titanium dioxide, iron oxide, mica and bismuth oxychloride) at the top of the ingredient list.
