It's Time to See a Dermatologist

Based on your answers, your mole may be irregular and should be checked out by a dermatologist soon. They will be able to do a biopsy of the mole to determine whether it is cancerous or not. The good news is, when skin cancer is caught early, 95 percent of these cancers can be treated and cured, according to the American Academy of Dermatology.

That's why even after you have this mole checked out, you should keep up regular skin exams. If you don't have time to make it to the dermatologist's office once a year, at least do skin self-exams. Check out The Skin Cancer Foundation's at-home exam here.

And bottom line, keep your skin protected from the sun by wearing SPF 15 every single day, and SPF 30 when exposed to the sun for extended periods of time. According to The Skin Cancer Foundation, 90 percent of non-melanoma skin cancers are associated with sun exposure, so sunscreen is your ultimate defense. Still looking for a great sunscreen?
