We once thought of Meg Ryan as the all-American sweetheart, the girl next door with enviable blonde hair and bright blue eyes. Her natural curls, cropped or long, made us fall even harder. And that smile? That mischievous little grin that lit up her face and radiated happiness? Totally infectious.

It's. All. Gone. Our admiration for Meg waned over the past few years when we noticed a few nips and tucks, but after seeing pics of her appearance at the 59th Taormina Film Festival in Italy, we're wondering if she'll ever stop. What's with The Joker smile and kooky, taut smile lines? Granted, she's still got those piercing eyes, but we hardly recognize her. This is a good warning for any of us considering going under the knife or needle. A little goes a long way, and too much looks like ... this.
