Before making the happy jump to beauty, I was an editor at an entertainment site which was an ok job but, if I'm being honest (as I'm wont to do), I have never been more relieved to have gotten out of the celebrity fray than I am right now.


Having to cover the upcoming "Kimye" nuptials would've been a daily task -- especially with the big Parisian event looming so large. And, for me, so doing would've required a lobotomy and/or a lot of vodka so it's all around better that I'm no longer tasked with writing about pseudo celebs and their comings and goings.

In fact, I'm so stoked about this little life bonus that today -- and today only -- I'm going to break my own self-imposed rule and voluntarily tell you all about Kim Kardashian's (see? I can type those words sober) extravagant pre-wedding skin care expenditure. In the name of science, of course.

Turns out that Mr. West's bride-to-be stopped by her derm's office last Friday for a "Vegan Plant Cell" facial. But, as is her style, this was far from any regular, run o' the mill, treatment.

The service, which begins at $550, is a proprietary Lancer Skincare offering that KK had performed by her longtime aesthetician, Louise Deschamps.

"For the last 30 years, Dr. Harold Lancer has been a trusted resource for some of the world's most beautiful people," says a blurb on his official website. "His Beverly Hills-based dermatology practice follows his "less is more" approach when developing advanced, bespoke skincare treatments for his patients. People come from around the world for Dr. Lancer's advice and care because the results are simply remarkable."

According to reports, Kardashian, who admittedly does have a great complexion, has been a patron of the Beverly Hills center for years -- ostensibly since she could afford it -- and goes to great pains to ensure her skin is always in tip top shape. Now that she's about to walk down the aisle, I can only imagine (since I don't have to write about it, yay!) how high into gear that regimen has been kicked.

This specific facial, according to New York Magazine, "Begins with the typical cleansing, exfoliating, and extractions. Then a rose oil-coated custom sheet mask is applied." Once that dries and is removed, Dr. Lancer's ultra-pricey Lift Serum Intense (which sells for $275 for less than an ounce) is rubbed into skin. "Lift Serum Intense is an elegant fluid that combines pure gold leaf and Stem Cell Recovery Complex, an exclusive plant stem cell compound, to deliver firming and lifting effects." And, then you're on your merry -- albeit broker -- way.

Whether or not the bride got one "to go" too remains a mystery. You'd think that since she has to hop a plane for a 13-hour flight to France for her wedding this weekend (Without Brodie there of course. Have you heard? He's not even going...), she'd want to ensure her vegan skin emerged from the plane well nourished.
