Wearing High Heels Will Save You Money Shopping (Really!)

Shoppers with balance were better spenders
Heading out to pick a few new dresses? Don't forget to wear your heels. A new study out of Brigham Young University finds that women wearing high heels while shopping were more likely to make balanced spending decisions.

Yes, really.

According to study lead Jeffrey Larson, women who wore heels were more likely to choose products that were in the middle range of their budgets, rather than overspend and go for something super high end. As he explains it, "If you're someone who tends to overspend, or you're kind of an extreme person, then maybe you ought to consider shopping in high heels." The reason? When you're working on staying physically balanced, you're more likely to stay balanced in regards to budget.

But Jeffrey, they hurt!

There are, claims the study, alternatives to wearing heels. If you're looking to make more balanced economic decisions without painful footwear, do other kinds of exercise that emphasize balance, like yoga, or standing on one foot. And if anyone asks why you're crazily standing in the shoe department, tell 'em you're getting a deal. [Source]
