• Around 3.3. million fitness tracking bands were sold in the U.S. in the past year. That sounds like a lot but that's actually a pretty small percentage of the U.S. market overall. Incidentally, FitBit dominates the market, accounting for around 67 percent of all sales. Jawbone and Nike are a distant second and third. [Business Insider]

• Coke is cleaning up Fanta and some of its other soft drinks -- it's taking out brominated vegetable oil from its citrus-flavored drinks. The chemical was removed from its Powerade beverage earlier this year and will be removed from Fanta and Fresca soda by the end of the year. It's legal to use small quantities of the chemical in drinks, but it's also (gulp!) a chemical found in fire retardants. [Reuters]
