Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Is a Match Made in Makeup Heaven

This sh*t is bananas (in the best way). We nearly lost our '90s girl minds when we found out that edgy makeup brand Urban Decay and Stefani are collaborating on a limited-edition collection

Don't deny it: You've definitely rocked out hard to "Just a Girl." More than once. And come November 22, you can do so while wearing makeup that singer/fashion icon/she of the perfect abs Gwen Stefani created with Urban Decay. (Yes, feel free to scream in excitement). This is the brand's first-ever celebrity collaboration.


I caught up with Urban Decay Chief Creative Officer and founding partner Wende Zomnir to talk all about the partnership (and get a little peek of the what's in store for the collection!), before seeing No Doubt perform at Kaaboo Music Festival in Del Mar, California.

Zomnir and Stefani crossed paths for nearly 20 years before it was finally the right time to do a collaboration. Luckily for us beauty junkies, that time has now come. "We both have a lot of the same influences in terms of style and perspective on beauty ... and brows -- we had a lot to share," Zomnir explained. "It was a lot of fun to work with her. She's a really lovely person and she really cares about makeup."

Zomnir spent hours and hours at Stefani's house, talking all things makeup and designing the collection. Stefani had a hand in everything, from the shades to the packaging to the formulas. "There are so many celebrities who don't know what their makeup artist put on them, in their downtime they don't really wear makeup ... [but] it's important to her (Gwen)," said Zomnir, which is why this collaboration is a such a great fit.

After all, as Stefani once sang, "Magic's in the makeup." And I have no doubt (sorry, couldn't resist) that this partnership is going to be amazing.
