Site Calls For Unretouched Photos Of Lena Dunham's Vogue Shoot

Jezebel wants to see Dunham without the airbrushing.
The website Jezebel has made exposing the vagaries of airbrushing one of its causes, and with Lena Dunham's Vogue cover, they've taken up the sword once again. This time, they're offering $10,000 to anyone who can find unretouched photos of Dunham's Vogue cover and shoot.

Huh?

Back in 2007, they gave an anonymous tipster a similar $10,000 check for providing unretouched images of Faith Hill's Redbook cover (spoiler alert: she still looks amazing).

Their aim with getting Dunham's photos? "This is about Vogue, and what Vogue decides to do with a specific woman who has very publicly stated that she's fine just the way she is, and the world needs to get on board with that," writes Jezebel's Jessica Coen. "Just how resistant is Vogue to that idea? Unaltered images will tell."

Strangely though, the request seems very personal. Is Jezebel mad that a woman who speaks out so vocally about loving her body as it is, and holds herself up as what a real woman looks like, would admit to the high glamor fluffery of Vogue? It seems like there's something there in the subtext.

What do you think?
