One Plus-Size Woman's Mission to Change Our Perception of Beauty

Amani Terrell is determined to spread the message of body positivity
You don't often find the words "plus size" and "Hollywood" in the same sentence but if 20 year-old Amani Terrell has her way, you will.

The 206 lb. California girl has taken to the streets of Tinseltown to prove that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes -- oh, and she's wearing a bikini while she does it.

"You can't seek validation from others," Terrell says, "It has to come from within." And, while she realizes that she's not at the most healthy weight and should lose a few pounds, Terrell wants to teach people like her to "love themselves regardless."

Strutting up and down famed Hollywood Boulevard in what she calls an "empowerment walk," Terrell has garnered quite a bit of attention from media outlets and passersby alike. While it hasn't all been positive, she refuses to let people rain on her parade. "There's a misconception that big women have low self-esteem, I don't have low self-esteem."

If ever there was a bona fide "You go, girl" moment, this would have to be it.
