MAKE: A Color Cosmetics Line That Helps Women Do Much More Than Look Pretty

Why do we women wear makeup? To feel good (or better) about ourselves? To camouflage perceived flaws and imperfections? To have fun playing with pretty pots of wonderful colors?


Whatever your reason, applying makeup is fundamentally a "me-centric" thing to do. (Although, I'm sure others appreciate not having our angry, red blemishes glaring at them.) But now, thanks to the altruistic folks at MAKE, it doesn't necessarily have to be.

While some brands make efforts to give back from time to time (think October's Breast Cancer Awareness packaging and pledges), MAKE is the first entirely "for-benefit" color cosmetics line with a whopping 33.3 percent of its sales going to the We See Beauty Foundation -- a non-profit that helps enable women-led businesses off the ground.

With the foundations premier initiative set at fostering a Brooklyn-based co-op that will generate personal care products and establish the model as something others can strive to achieve in their own neighborhoods, We See Beauty strives to "drive large scale change" for women everywhere.

Factor into this do-good mindset the fact that the MAKE line is created entirely in America and why would you not want to partake of their products?

With 220 items to choose among, the collection (available solely from the We See Beauty commerce site) surely has something for everyone and, at a price point ranging between $5 and $42, giving back can be at once beautiful and affordable.
