3 Head-Turning Brow Looks for the Holidays

Forget a crimson lip or glittery eyelids -- these brow looks will bring the drama to your next party

The holidays are around the corner, which means that among all of the other things you have to do (think: bake cookies, buy gifts, put up the tree) you need to lock down your holiday party look. Sure, you could go with the classic red lip or sparkly eye shadow, but why not put the focus on your brows this year instead? After all, 2016 has undeniably been the year of the brow.

To show us how to make our brows pop this season (and beyond), we sought the wisdom of Benefit Global Brow Expert Jared Bailey. Here, you can watch him create three different brow looks, any of which would work beautifully at your next festive gathering. Watch the video for the full tutorials, or check out some highlights below.

Natural Brow Look (0:00)
Use Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil, which has a convenient teardrop-shaped tip. The wider bottom makes filling in brows superspeedy, plus the narrow tip can be used for definition. Pro tip: Match your brow pencil color to the deepest tone of your hair. Go to the base of the brow, and push the pencil upward. Make short strokes in the direction of your hair growth. Brush through the brows with a spoolie to blend the color and soften your look. Add volume and dimension with a brow gel, like Benefit's Gimme Brow. Use the wand to brush the hair upward.

Modern Feathered Brows (9:22)
For this look, use a micro-lining pencil, like Benefit Precisely My Brow Brow Pencil. The trick is to use two pencils in two different shades. First, pick a color that's your true match, then, select a color that's about two shades deeper. With the true match, add structure to your brows with small upward strokes. Once the brow has structure, take the deeper-colored pencil and add it to places that need to be amped up. The contrasting colors will give your brows a nice, natural shape and dimension. Lock in the look with a setting gel, like Benefit Ready, Set Brow.

Dramatic Glitter Brows (19:58)
Use a cream gel with a highly pigmented formula, like Benefit Ka-Brow, which lasts 24 hours. Tap the brush in the gel. Test it on your hand before putting it on your brows. Create structure along the base of the brow by tracing along the bottom of your brows. From the line you've created, brush product up into the brow. Then, go along the top of the brow with the product. Finish the look with a glitter gel, like Revlon PhotoReady Eye Art Lid+ Line + Lash. Apply it all over the brow, and then blend with a spoolie.
