Gwyneth Paltrow Preachin' to the People: Modeling's 'a Perfect Job for When You Have Kids'

The "Most Hated Celebrity" and "World's Most Beautiful Woman" claims she once ate a croissant, and other hate-able tales
We didn't really need another reason to hate on Gwyneth's high-born ways -- remember that time she said, "I am who I am. I can't pretend to be somebody who makes $25,000 a year"? But she's force-feeding us her goop again, this time in a WWD interview about her new campaign for Hugo Boss' latest scent, Boss Jour Pour Femme.

According to a Hugo Boss fragrance rep, "Gwyneth embodies hard work, femininity and sophistication." Sophistication, yes. But she also embodies pretention, unattainable perfection, and a let-them-eat-[gluten-free]-cake attitude that really gets under people's skin. Case in point, her second cookbook debuted at No. 1 on the New York Times best-seller list -- but then Yahoo calculated it would cost $300.65 to follow her recommended family meal plan for just one day.

We agree with Hugo Boss that Gwyneth is a "successful, multifaceted woman" who can balance career and family. But that doesn't mean we don't find her completely disconnected from reality. Direct from the mouth of the flaxen-haired princess:

On being a collector: "I am one of those people who have a whole closet full of perfume. I love it; I have always loved it and have always had a wardrobe full of scent." She's admitted to owning at least 100 perfumes herself.

On her fascinating daily routine: "I wake up at 7 a.m., I get [the kids] fed, and I get them dressed in their uniforms, any bits of homework are finished. She [Apple, now 9] gets dropped off at 8:25 a.m., and he [Moses, now 7] gets dropped off at 8:45 a.m., so we have a croissant together in his school dining room and we do reading together. Then I go home and I work for one hour on all the e-mails that come in overnight from L.A. Then I exercise from about 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Then I work on Goop [the digital media and e-commerce company she founded] pretty much the rest of the day until I pick up my kids and then they have various activities." We're not surprised she works out two hours a day, but we're calling BS on the croissant.

And on being the face of a fragrance: "It really is such a perfect job when you have kids." No comment necessary.

Sigh. She never seems to get it. Am I alone here?
