Dior's Gold Eyebrows: Would You (Could You) In Real Life?

Models may have worn the gilded look with aplomb on the runway but does it translate to the streets?

Christian Dior has given an entirely new meaning to the Golden Arches -- and we're not talking fast food here, ladies.

Some of the models at the famed fashion house's Spring 2014 show in Paris strutted their stuff down the runway at the Musée Rodin with shiny gold painted eyebrows -- no shadow, no liner, just gold statement brows.

Makeup artist extraordinaire, Pat McGrath, was responsible for the look which she, and her highly-trained team, prepped for by spending the morning before the show bleaching the models' brows before coating them with liquid gold pigment and micro glitter. Presto, instant glamour and a built in gilded accessory.

As she explained: "These eyebrows are like jewelry. Working with the natural brow shapes, we applied glue, gold pigment, and gold glitter in many layers to create a brocade texture. It's a real build. To get it right, we just painted on the pigment and wiped it away. We were really having fun. The glue was used to ensure that the gold stayed for the full show. And we decided on gold because it feels both organic and futuristic."

Now, not every girl had to go eye shadow-less. Some had on more of an eye look than others. McGrath elaborates: Some girls have just the brows, some girls have both a gold eye and a gold brow, and some girls have just the eyes. For the eyes, we painted on the pigment, and added a flash of pastel with blue, green, or yellow eyeliner very close to the lash. We finished them with brown mascara. There's lip balm on the lips, and we warmed the models' faces with rose blush, leaving the skin very natural and transparent. The girls with absolutely no eyes were slightly highlighted with Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream."

And, while, they look beautiful and ethereal and all that, would anyone wear these golden brows in real life? To a holiday party perhaps? To watch the ball drop on New Year's Eve? What do you think? Game for a go at them?
