Countess Vaughn's Lacefront Wig Nightmare

The TV star admits she let an infection fester too long
Countess Vaughn played Brandy's best friend Kim on the hit television show Moesha in the '90s. She loved lacefront wigs, but they didn't love her back.

Vaughn appeared on an episode of The Doctors on Monday to talk about how a lacefront wig actually gave her a scalp infection. She began wearing them in 2004, and didn't have any problems until five years later, when she began having a bad reaction to the wig glue. "I let it go by for six months," she admitted. "My hair started to fall out."

Every time she took her wig off, she said, it was like, "taking off a layer of skin." These days, Vaughn has to draw her hair line in with an eyeliner pencil.

"I was embarrassed, you have to be at home, and be bald. I had to go through this to teach my little one that you have to love yourself before anyone else will," she said. [The Doctors]
