Connie Britton Lets Us In On Her Best Kept Hair Secret

The "Nashville" actress's famous asset is no happy accident

She's flirted with Michael J. Fox in the New York City mayor's office, stood by Kyle Chandler on the gridiron and sung circles around Hayden P. in Tennessee -- and all the while, Connie Britton's hair has looked fabulous.

Now, we're not saying that the four-time Emmy nominee is nothing but a head of hallelujah-worthy hair, after all she's quite an impressive actress (and, hello, singer!), but her hair is so spectacular that it even has its own Twitter account. Seriously.

The 45 year-old new mom, who, while having nothing to do with it, thinks its hilarious that her hair tweets, recently spoke to HuffPo about a whole bunch of stuff -- but all that we came away with were her hair care secrets.

While she may have joked that she "bathed it in gold every night," the Boston native attributed her hair's famous sheen to the fact that she stays away from shampoo.

"I have to admit that I don't wash my hair very much," she said, "which I think helps a lot because the natural oils just make it shiny."

While Britton admits that she's lucky not to have overly oily hair, she insists that resisting the temptation to over shampoo makes her hair very manageable and silky. "My hair's dry so that when I wash it, it gets fluffy and hard to handle. I will get out of the shower and let my hair dry on its own. Then, as the days go on, it actually gets better." (Hint: when she does wash it, she uses Wen.)

Plus, since she's a self-professed "low maintenance" kind of gal, this approach fits in with her busy work/life balance -- something that she works hard to maintain. In Hollywood it's easy to get caught up with obsessing over your looks, but to hear Britton talk about it, she certainly has a refreshing, and healthy perspective on things. "Sometimes as women we put so much pressure on ourselves about the products that we use and the way we think we have to look and I think that the pressure can hinder our own natural beauty."

Amen, sister.
