"Be Your Beautiful Best" Tips from Elle "The Body" Macpherson

How does the model still look so flipping awesome after all these years? Perhaps these little pearls of wisdom have something to do with it
I hate Elle Macpherson. And, by "hate" I mean "am super jealous of" and "really love her a lot."

Not only is she Australian (the accent is a proven aphrodisiac to 9 of 10 American guys, like she needs a leg up in that department) but she's a hundred feet tall, a multi-million dollar business woman and is 50 (fifty !) freaking years old and still looks pretty much as awesome as she did when she first started making us drool over her Sports Illustrated swimsuit spreads.

See? Hate.

Chalk it up to her innate coolness (does anyone else look good in a raffia cowboy hat?), her bones, her DNA, her perfect storm of whatever, Elle is gorgeous. Period.

How she does it is anyone's guess -- perhaps even her own -- but, recently, she sat down with an editor from British Vogue to spill what she deems as her "secrets" for still looking so dang hot. Coincidence that this interview happened to jibe with the release of The Super Elixir, her foray into the wonderful world of commercial nutritional juicing supplements? Me thinks not. But, really, who cares when we got a peek behind the beauty curtain that is "The Body"?

Here's some of what she shared; for the rest you can click on over to Vogue.

•"I believe in wellness and maintenance, which to me means 'easy does it all year long.' It's really simple: eat vegetables, fruits and lean protein, a little bit of dark chocolate - if that's what you like - and lots of water. Nothing too extreme; it's all about balance and trying a little bit every day. I always eat three meals a day and two snacks, and some of my favorite foods at the moment are: spinach, beetroot, goats' cheese, pearl barley, kale, quinoa, pine nuts, halloumi cheese and I do eat fish but no red meat or chicken."

• "If you really want to lose weight, try running intervals outside. I run for 20 minutes - one minute "on" running as fast as you can and then one minute "off" walking and catching your breath. By the time you've done the sixth interval, you won't be going too fast but it's a great way to get in shape."

• "Get bikini ready by scrub, scrub, scrubbing. I dry brush, wet brush, use scrubs in the shower -- I'll try any kind of scrub. It's a terrific way to refresh, detoxify and soften the skin."

• "When I'm on holiday, there are two great things I do to keep in shape. I walk in the ocean at thigh-high level so you get all the resistance of the water and you don't have to strut up and down the beach in your bikini. I also run on the beach barefoot and stop every few minutes and do ten lunges."

• "My best piece of advice is to drink 3 liters of water per day and get at least 7 hours of sleep. If we all did that more often we would feel a lot better."
