Adele Walks Away From L'Oréal Spokesmodel Deal

And the millions of dollars that goes with it
Adele just wants to be free, free of responsibilities to big beauty corporations like L'Oréal that want her to use her pretty face to sell their products. So rather than strike up big deals -- worth literally millions and millions of dollars -- and pose for pretty pictures, Adele's walking away from it all.

The pop superstar hasn't said why exactly, but recent interviews with Brit newspaper The Telegraph may offer a clue. "I think it's shameful when you sell out. It depends what kind of artist you wanna be but I don't want my name anywhere near another brand. I don't wanna be tainted or haunted," she said. And also: "I don't want to be in everyone's face. I'm a big music fan and I get really pissed off when it gets like that ... and I don't want people to get like that with me."

The company's current spokes lady is Cheryl Cole, though the brand was reportedly upset with Cole after she got a large rose tattoo across her lower back. Cole's deal isn't worth nearly as much as Adele's would have been -- near the $1 million dollar range (though that's still nothing to sneeze at, either). [Daily Mail]
