911 Dispatcher Saves Bride's Wedding Day

Plus Adam Driver in Vogue, Coco as Lucy and more of the top stories of the day
• A 911 operator went above and beyond when she stepped in to save the wedding of a woman who called her dispatch. On Sunday, a Washington woman called 911 to report that, on the eve of her wedding, someone broke into her car and stole her wedding dress. Candace, the 911 operator who fielded the call, was touched by the young woman's story. "I handled the situation as I normally would, but inside, I really sympathized," she said. "I couldn't imagine someone stealing my wedding dress. All I kept thinking was, 'I have a wedding dress. Maybe she could wear that.'" After getting her supervisor's approval, Candace asked the responding officer to offer her wedding dress to the bride-to-be. It was a perfect match! "I'm so proud of Candice -- what she did was extraordinary," said Vonnie Mayer, operations manager at Valley Communications and Candice's manager. "More people should be like her." [Source]
