Running errands can be such a drag. Spending hard-earned bills on toilet paper, tampons and other unsexy necessities = not a fun way to spend a Saturday. Unless, of course you accidentally on purpose wind up in the beauty aisles of CVS.
The lazy days of summer can leave us with more than a few beauty woes come fall. According to dermatologist Heidi Waldorf, MD, "pigmentation and acne" are the two most prominent skin issues women face at the end of the summer. Here, she explains how you can erase these signs of summer and more with the help of over-the-counter products, prescription creams and in-office treatments. Every time September rolls around, I'm filled with mixed emotions. There's the inevitable sadness that rosè season is coming to an end, but then there's that "back-to-school" excitement that comes with the start of a new season. And even though I'm long past actually going back to school, those September vibes always make me want to stock my beauty stash with lots of fresh new goodies. Conveniently, September is when most companies launch their fall products, so there's no shortage to choose from. I narrowed it down to nine, including (spoiler alert) everything from brightening eye patches that work in minutes to a liquid liner like you've never seen before. Forget the pens and pencils, this is the kind of shopping you should be doing this month.
If you've never had a chemical peel, you might imagine it would make your skin look like beef carpaccio a la Samantha in "Sex and the City." But the truth is, chemical peels have come a long way in the last 15 years. Now, thanks to buffering ingredients and customizable treatments, there's minimal downtime. "Even though you're peeling, exfoliating, and flaking... you can still get out and about and do your thing. That's different from the peels I used in the past," he says.
