I'm Surprisingly Inspired by Barbra Streisand's (New) Nails -- See How I Plan to Copy Them
When I think "Barbra Streisand," an image of her "Funny Girl" persona pops to mind. That voice, Nicky Arnstein and those nails!

Babs has, of course, long been known for her signature, looong, slightly tapered fingernails. (Which, thanks to my penchant for things trivial I happen to know that she initially grew to avoid having to get a job as a secretary -- typing and nails don't mesh.)

So, imagine my surprise when the other day I was watching the typically media shy diva on "Oprah" and as she went to hug Robert Redford (!) she had short, semi-square nails painted in the most to die for deep burgundy/purple-y/ruby shade. Yep, there was Mrs. James Brolin in all her beret-wearing splendor sporting downright modern nails. Buh-bye Fannie Bryce.

While I was applauding Streisand for having taken the leap into this new millennium, I took a long hard look at my own nails and realized it had been way too long since I had any oomph, pizzazz or color on them. That's when I began the quest -- the quest to find the same shade that Streisand had on.

Sadly, there's no "getbarbra'snailpolish.com" to turn to, so I had to do a lot of searching around to find just the right shade. Here are the four closest matches to help you get fabulous fingernails of your own...
