The Fittest Place In The Country? It May Surprise You

Boulder, Colorado, comes out on top for the fifth time in six years
Want to know where all the super fit people live? For the fifth time in the past six years, Boulder, Colorado, took home top honors. The hippie haven has a 12.4 percent adult obesity rate, which is super low, compared to McAllen-Edinburg-Mission, Texas, which boasts 38.3 percent obesity.



But by far the worst area for obesity? The golden triangle between West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio, which found that around 39.5 percent of people are obese.

Other places with lovely low obesity rates? Naples-Marco Island, Florida, and Fort Collins, Colorado. But the news is pretty bad across the board: Nationwide, U.S. obesity rates have increased to an average of 27.1 percent per community, the highest they've been since tracking began in 2008.
