Good Idea, but Didn't Work for Me

Very few Tarte products pass through my hands which I don't love, but their "Smooth Operator Illuminating Serum" is one which I'm sorry I purchased. It is replete with skin-loving ingredients, but I was hesitant to use it on my very fair skin. It was creamy, but the color came off looking artificial, with far too much of an orange base. I would try it over tanned skin, but I no longer tan (quit the sun and tanning beds years ago). I would not repurchase this again.

Gorgeous glow

I was SO skeptical when I got a sample size of this in a free set from Sephora, but I tried it out one day just to see and it's amazing. I have fair skin, so I'm always nervous about something like this looking too dark on me, but it doesn't at all. I smoothed it all over my face and it gave me the prettiest, healthiest looking glow I've ever seen from a makeup product. I need to remember to use this more often because it's a very nice product. I'm pretty sure once I run out of my small tube, I'll be buying a full size of this. Illuminating, indeed!

Lack of Sleep? Buy This!

As a mom to little ones lack of sleep is a daily occurrence at our house. I received a free sample from Sephora; and applied this one day when I was feeling a bit glum. Well, turn that frown upside down it did. It works well to brighten up the face. I applied it over my mineral foundation. A tiny bit goes a long way. I'll be buying a full size after my sample is gone. I've been using it (sparingly...read more) for the past month and a half and I still have quite a bit left. I highly recommend this product -- especially if you want to fake awake :P

My Winter Miracle!

I'm from the South, so I rarely had problems with dry skin in the winter. When I moved to the great, snowy North 5 years ago, I dread the Winter every year knowing that no matter how much I exfoliate and how much moisturizer I apply, I'll wind up with dry, aged skin. This product it tinted, but doesn't give much, if any coverage. It also hasn't replaced anything in my skin care regimen, but has been a most welcome addition.
