Difficult and Ineffective!
I've mentioned several times before that I want long, lush, glossy eyelashes--the kind that Scarlett O'Hara used to charm men. I do have several mascaras which I like a lot (Benefit's "They're Real!," Lancôme's "Definicils," the version by Ellis Faas, Buxom's effective formula, and Lancôme's "Hynôse Custom Volume," just for starters). When DJV Beautenizer came out with their "Fiberwig Mascara,...read more" ($22.00), I was over the moon. Finally, I could have the color, length, and volume I have been trying to achieve since junior high school! This mascara contains tiny fibers to allegedly double the look of your own lashes. It forms a "film coating" to prevent smudging. The active ingredients include panthenol, hydrolyzed silk, and a root extract to nourish beautiful lashes. Moreover, it is free of harmful sulfates, phthalates, and synthetic dyes and fragrances. That's where the beauty ended for me. The brush is an awkward, concave shape which you are supposed to place at the root of your lashes, sweeping upward in a wiggling manner in order to coat lashes with the protective film. In order to add length, you are supposed to apply the fibers of this product to the ends of your own lashes until you reach a desired length (much easier said than done). Lower lashes are to be coated by using the protruding side of the brush in the same wiggling manner. The company suggests using an eyelash curler if needed once the product has dried. I have lots of problems with this. I don't have this much time in my daily routine for multiple manipulations on my lashes with a hard-to-use brush. I would NEVER curl lashes after applying mascara, as this has a tendency to remove your natural lashes (and they may never grow back). Despite the extra fibers, I saw LITTLE increase in volume or length. I tried working with it several times before I gave up. This is simply not worth the time nor the money. I was really excited about this product... but it's a little weird.
I wanted to love this mascara. I was excited about the concept of fibers lengthening my lashes, and it being waterproof and easy to remove. However, the brush shape means that too much mascara gets glopped onto my lashes. Wiping it down helps a bit, but also wipes off some fibers. I had the best results by layering one coat of Fiberwig LX and one coat of a regular mascara with a big bristle brush-...read more-my lashes look super long and shiny--but it's just too much work to make it a part of my everyday routine! While it is fairly waterproof, it isn't as easy to remove as it claims. You won't need eye makeup remover (it might actually take longer if you do use it), but you will have to give your lashes a good rub to get all of the plasticky bits of mascara off (it comes off in clumps, instead of dissolving like most mascaras). One of the worst...
This caught my attention when I saw this on display at Ulta where the grab-n-go is by the registers. All the claims on the packaging sounded too good to be true and I guessed it worked because I found myself sucked in to buying it. It was Japan's #1 Secret on the packaging. Some claims it has is that it creates false-looking lashes that curls, volumizes, and lengthens without eyelash extensions. I...read moret's supposed to not smudge and create panda eyes but removes easily with warm water. What a gyp!!! First of all, the brush is terrible. I've never seen anything like it. It's a curved brush but it has a twisted shape to it so it's hard to work with. This literally did nothing for my stick straight lashes. It coated some dark color to it but did not create the illusion of false lashes at all. You cannot even tell that I have anything on. Not buildable either. After three coats, I gave up. I hated how this poked my eyes so bad after it dried. Definitely not good for sensitive eyes. And it DOES NOT remove easily with warm water. I still had to use an oil-based remover to get this off. Long Lasting

A bit pricey, but entirely worth it
This keeps my lashes curled all day, makes them super long and lush, only flakes a TINY bit, never smudges or clumps or fails. You have to experiment with different application methods to get the look you want. Excellent for length

UNDERWHELMED....
I've never tried a fiber-based mascara so I was excited to pick this product up. I liked that it added length to my lashes BUT the mascara made my lashes look long and wiry with absolutely no volume whatsoever. Needless to say after paying $24+tax I wasn't impressed...and it's a pain to get off. After using make-up remover towelettes AND washing my face I still had clumps of mascara particles stuck to my lashes...I definitely won't be buying this again!This review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Performs!
This was a great mascara for me. I loved how long it made my lashes, but I did find that it flaked every now and then. It's a little on the pricier side but I'm willing to pay more for a mascara that really performs. BEST MASCARA EVER!!!!!
I love this mascara! It makes your lashes look GORGEOUS! The fibers add length and it goes on beautifully without clumping. While it is not a waterproof mascara I like that when you are ready to wash your face it comes off CLEAN!
