Try their regular shampoo first....

My husband usually uses Head and Shoulders Classic Clean Shampoo, but he tried the whole bottle of this H&S intensive treatment shampoo recently. He concludes that he did not feel and see any significant difference from his regular H&S Classic Clean Shampoo. In other words, both helped to eliminate dandruff. Nevertheless, this shampoo dried out his hair a little more, and as for the scent,...read more he prefer the regular one. Since none of us suffers from severe dandruff, I cannot judge whether this shampoo is more effective against severe dandruff than regular Head and Shoulders. However, for my husband's mild to moderate dandruff problem, the regular H & S Classic Clean Shampoo is good enough. BTW, my husband strongly recommend to use one of H&S conditioners for a better result.

Animal Testing

I wouldn't recommend this product because they test on animals. There are plenty of other anti-dandruff shampoos out there that don't, so I would use those.

It really stops the itch

I've been usuing this shampoo for a week, I was previously using the regular Head and Shoulders 2 in 1. I like this one much better. The regular H&S shampoo did prevent dandruff for the most part, but my scalp was still always itchy and my hair looked and felt dry. This shampoo finally relieved the itch as well as preventing dandruff and leaves my hair soft and silky, I do use a seperate conid...read moretioner afterwards but I haven't changed that. This is my new favorite shampoo, My hair and scalp haven't felt so healthy in a long time.

This really works!!

I was surprised when my dermatologist recommended Head and Shoulders for my scalp. It really works and I love how manageable my hair is after shampooing. I give it a 2 Thumbs up!

I Like Head & Shoulders...

But this stuff is incredibly drying, due to how potent it is. I would highly suggest trying other products in their line first, unless you're certain you need something with extra strength. While it did work well to eliminate dandruff initially, regular use actually made my dandruff worse and my hair oilier (I have a dry scalp with oily hair, and I believe that this product was so drying it caused my body to go into overdrive and produce even more oil). Not for me.

Review subject

I have tried this along with every other shampoo, even prescription shampoos, and NOTHING works. I have had an itchy, flaky scalp for over ten years and nothing helps. I try not to scratch, but I wake myself up at night from scratching in my sleep until it bleeds. My left ear is also very itchy and dry. I am at my wits end. I saw these reviews and thought there might be SOMEONE who can suggest a miracle cure. I need help, please!

Noticeable results after one use!

I had ezcema when I was young but it hasn't been present in a lot of years. Over the last 6 months, it has come back with a vengeance...in embarrassing proporion. I saw this product's review and purchased it. I can't believe the result after one use! Incredible! I did couple it with a moisturizing, anti-frizz treatment so my hair feels good.

its kind of "intense"

my scalp would sometimes be very irritated and give a burning sensation after using this shampoo and the recommended conditioner with it. i think it really is meant for people with severe dandruff. otherwise it may be too "intense" =/

Toss-up

Reduced my dandreff, but I felt like it dried my hair out. I hate having to use other hair products to overcompensate for my bad shampoo, so I think if I repurchase this, I'll be repurchasing the original one.
