I love to love this brush!

I fell in love with this brush years ago when I was being a "test" client for a friend of mine who went to the Jean Madeline Beauty school. The school at the time (may still do) only used Aveda products and when my friend introduced me to the product, I wrinkled my nose at the price but I am glad I purchased it. It is the best paddle brush for me...I have very long hair and it is very thick and...read more I literally have broken other brushes because of the length and thickness of my hair but nope this is extremely durable. One day though I got my purse stolen and this brush was in it and when I went to replace it...I noticed the brush was not of the same quality it seemed like Aveda got a little cheap BUT it is still very good, do not be discouraged by the price - I purchased two because I love them so much!

Aveda Paddle Brush- Terrific

I own two and have for years. My hair is past my shoulders, colored, very fine but thick. It tangles easily after shampooing and in the wind or even with static electricity from a sweater or scarf. It is very gentle with little breakage. I aslo use one for my pets. I had a Persian cat is used it on and a Cairn Terrier I currently use it on. He loves being brushed with it.

Great Except one issue for me...

Great quality and you can feel the brush massaging your scalp when you use it. It really is a fantastic brush. Well worth the $20. For me though I had to swap it for a bristle/nylon brush because my hair is unusually fine, thin, and extremely prone to knotting which was causing dramatic fallout. So if your hair is like mine then I would skip on this one and look for one with nylon/bristle brushes like Mason Pearson (many inexpensive alternatives available though)

Over priced

This is a great paddle brush that does a great job with brushing and smoothing hair. You can get a good brush that works just as well for a bit cheaper at most beauty supply houses.

amazing brush

I got this as a present from my hairstylist friend. It's the best brush I have ever had. And I mean it. My hair is baby-thin and tangles all the time. I always had trouble brushing it out, all the brushes would just rip most of my hair out, it was like a nightmare! With this brush I feel like I have a regular person hair. No more pain to brushing!

Multipurpose

I use this brush to blow my hair out after washing it. I have AA hair and this brush combs through it without ripping and tearing my hair. It also gets my hair semi straight while blow drying it. MY bf loves me combing his shorter hair with it because it feels like a mini massage on the scalp. Its the last brush i'm buying for a while
