Redken UV Rescue Protective Oil leave-in smoother

Redken recently revamped this line, this product is now called Color Extend Sun Sparkling Shield. While the orignal product was great, my clients who use it swear it is better yet. It is a leave in smoother with Redken's new Hydra Shield Complex, and it not only protects from the sun's harmful rays, it conditions the hair with it's use. It has mango oil which is quickly absorbed, and my clients...read more tell me they use it sparingly as a smoothing treatment and to proctect their hair while heat styling. It also helps the hair from absorbing chemicals in pools or spas that would otherwise oxidize their hair color into that horrible green shade that chlorine can sometimes leave in your hair. The new formulation smells great, and when used as a serum it really adds shine and almost totally eliminates frizz. Protected hair is healthy hair, and this revamped line is a great line to use to maintain the health of your hair if you spend a lot of time in the sun or lying by, or swimming in a pool. This is a truly wonderful investment in the health of your hair, and it has some really great ingredients that not only protect, but can actually improve your hair.

Great idea!

Since this is an oil, I advise folks with very fine hair to use this sparingly. Otherwise, it really does help protect hair condition and color from the elements, It's just a little too heavy for my hair but probably great for people with medium-thick hair.

UV Fabulous

This Redken UV Rescue works really great on my daughter's curly hair. Just don't put to much on the scalp area or it can look oily but she loves this product.

I HAVE FOUND THAT I CANNOT USE THIS PRODUCT IN MY HAIR- BUT ONLY BECAUSE I HAVE OILY HAIR AND IT LOOKS TOO GREASY...HOWEVER IT IS A GREAT PRODUCT TO USE ON YOUR BODY- EXSSPECIALLY WHEN USED ON LIGHT OR DARK TANNED SKIN! Good Stuff

This smells really good, and though it makes my hair really oily, i just put it in a bun and go to the beach, it helps my hair stay in place and it protects color from fading.

i have dry damaged hair

a little goes a long way

I used this product all summer, but I am unsure how well the product worked. I did not get a sunburn on my scalp and my hair colour did not fade any faster, however, this could be because I was more strict about wearing hats and staying out of the sun. It will make your hair very oily if you use more than 2 squirts. I will use this product again this summer.

Love this stuff

I used this spray all last summer when I spent long days at the beach and pool in and out of the ocean and chorine. It will make your hair very oily, but maybe that is becuase I used A LOT! It really protected my hair and saved my highlights. I will use it again this summer.
