Eddie Vedder is a married man. Yep, the rockgod and Pearl Jam front man made it official with longtime girlfriend and model, Jill McCormick in Hawaii on Sept 18th. (Why do they always marry models?) A whole generation of former angst-ridden, flannel-shirt wearing girls are shedding a silent tear right about now. And because Eddie holds such a special place in our hearts, let's take the moral high ground here. Let's talk about Jill instead and the all-important "what did she look like on her big day" question. Well, of course she looked gorgeous -- she is a model after all. She wore a deep V-neck gown covered in lace and went for a simple, barely there, perfect-for-a-wedding makeup look. Her hair was down, center-parted with loose curls at the ends. It was perfect for the chilled oceanfront estate wedding. Perfect, except for the fact that it looked like she was getting beaten up by her hair in pretty much every picture. (Evidently it was a windy day.) Poor girl had to tuck her hair behind her ears to try to keep it out of her face -- not really what most people envision for their wedding hair look. And a clear case in favor of half up wedding hairstyles, no? "Wearing hair half up, half down for a destination wedding allows the bride to still maintain the easily tousled and beachy-textured feeling of wearing your hair down, but with the comfort of having your hair off your face," says Heather Packer, wedding expert and Redken stylist at Cutler Salon in New York City. These half up wedding hairstyles are just as gorgeous and feminine as completely down styles, but if the wind is a blowin', you're going to have a lot more control. Check out these options for half up wedding hairstyles.
Classic: Alexis Bledel looks fantastic in this polished half up hairstyle. As she has so much hair pulled away from her face, there's no need to worry about strays. Simple and elegant.
Romantic: Strapless gowns really show off the silhouette of a hairstyle, and Lauren Bosworth's is all about romance. Her long, soft curls are perfect to pair with dreamy dresses everywhere.
Bohemian: British singer, Pixie Lott, has the whole bohemian vibe going on here. She lets her cute, messy braids do double duty by defining the look and keeping the rest of her hair out of her face.
Sexy: Va va voom. Try Stana Katic's seductive Bardot-esque style. Structured volume in the back is tempered with soft chunky pieces around her face for a truly glamorous look.
Fresh: Fresh-faced Victoria Justice shows off her healthy hair with this carefree style. A few wispy pieces frame her face and keep the textured look totally unfussy.
Not sure if half up wedding hairstyles are for you? Maybe a side pony is more your style. Get inspiration for those hairstyles here.

I think Nina Dobrev's half back style would have worked better especially on a breezy day.

Those are such gorgeous hairdos. I prefer hair to be worn loose on the wedding day...so many updos make women look tense
