The Basics: Pencil Eye Makeup Lesson
See up close how to line your lash line, set it with powder -- and line your lower and (be brave!) upper rims
Transcript
Start by pulling the skin of your eyelid taut to make drawing a smooth line easier. You can also try bracing your elbow on a flat surface to prevent shaky hands. As you draw, try to get the eye makeup as close to your lashes as possible. You don't want to have any skin showing between the liner and your eyelashes. It's truly the difference between good makeup and great makeup. If your line turns out less than perfect, use a smudge brush to even out the line -- but be sure to wipe the brush after every stroke so you don't keep adding more color, making the eye makeup heavy and dark.
Have you ever wondered why liner runs? Most pencil liners are wax based, so by nature they melt with your body heat. To counteract this, set your liner with powder shadow in the same shade. Trace just over the liner. If you're looking for big drama, line your upper inner rim with eye makeup. Use a small, lint-free Q-Tip to dry your inner rim first -- otherwise the color won't stick. Finally, two coats of black mascara will finish off the look.

Good tips, but the eyeliner barely looks visible. The lashes look amazing though, although that might just be her natural lashes plus the extra added mascara.

What about eye primer? It's also good for helping eyeliner stay put!

i liked the tip to wipe the inner rim of your lash-line before putting liner on it. but otherwise, this was surprisingly unhelpful =/
