Lorenzo, Stylist at Warren-Tricomi Los Angeles:

Today we're going to take you through a classic up-do that's good for a wedding or any kind of special event in your life.

We previously prepped the hair by blow-drying it and putting in some polishing gloss and now we're going to hit it with a light hairspray. Then, we're going to take our 1-inch barrel curling iron and grab big sections just to put some bend into the ends. So we're going to do this throughout the whole head. When you're curling your hair, you should make sure to concentrate on the mid-shaft of the hair leaving the ends out and holding it until the very last couple of seconds. So we went ahead and finished curling all the hair. We set the front bangs with the 1 inch curling iron as well but we left them down instead of pinned up, so it'll be a lot softer and loose.

Now we're going to section her hair from ear to ear just in the middle. It doesn't have to be too precise. We're just going to tease this bottom section, just at the base to help build a little cushion. Then, you're going to take this section and roll it up. Secure it with pins. I'm just kind of spraying the outer shape with a firmer hold hairspray just to help support the shape and structure of it.

Now we're going to release the top section. Just take a horseshoe section on top, and tease the hair throughout for some cushion and volume. Go ahead and smooth this area on top. I'm going to pull this whole section in the middle and leave out both sides. Put a little more tease in the center. Then, just like what you did on the bottom, you're going to mirror that on top, so you're going to roll it under. I'm just securing it with a large hair pin. I like using the large hair pins because they go a lot deeper and you don't need as many. For the last shape of the silhouette, you're going to pull these sides back and incorporate them into the back. You're going to be constantly hitting the shape with hairspray so you can reinforce it.

This might be a little bit complex to handle on your own, but it's definitely easy for one of your friends to help with. And if it is your wedding day, then this is definitely a bridesmaid activity. It's pretty easy once you have the steps down.

With the last section, you're going to wrap over and you're going to want to make sure the pin is directed down. This is definitely a more classic, silhouette type of hairstyle. You can always accessorize this with some diamonds in the hair, or a soft flower in the nape on the back side. Of course if you're a bride, you're going to have that gorgeous veil. So this is our finished silhouette.

This is a beautiful and classic hairstyle! It seems like the curling was a bit unnecessary and it would be a lot simpler (and quicker!) without it. Otherwise, what a great DIY wedding hairstyle!
