So we are going to show you how to style shorter, blunt-cut bangs, that are side swept. You are going to want to start with wet bangs and blow-dry in the opposite direction than they're actually going to be styled in once your hairstyles are finished. I will show you how right now. So when the hair is maybe 60 to 70 percent dry, you are going to want to start blow drying it in the direction you want the bangs to lay. And you can kind of just work your hands in this. So this way you end up with a soft, side-swept bang over to one side and you can hit it with a little light hold hair spray on your entire hairstyle at the very end.

My bangs are too long for this and with blow drying them they still look limp and lifeless

Those are cute styles, but my bangs only go to the left.

I wish I could do this but my bangs have a mind of their own

Great advise. Also, try pulling your bangs tight while drying to the side, it helps them lay flatter, even when you're styling them straight down. Pull to the left-dry. Pull to the right-dry some more. They lay flat, but still have body instead of looking like a hair visor.

I found this video very informative. I never thought to dry the bangs in the other direction to start. I have attempted this look before with less-than-successful results, so maybe I'll be better now.
