Because foundations and tinted moisturizers for fair skin contain very light pigments, they can make your skin seem washed out of all natural color. To give your skin dimension, use this layering make up technique. Buy the two shades of foundation that most closely match your skin tone. Blend the lighter one on first using your fingers or a make up sponge, then go back over it with a darker shade.

You probably already know the pale skin trick about switching to a softer black brown mascara, but simple switches to other products can help too.

When in doubt go for a peach blush. This warm tone will brighten your complexion no matter what your undertone and won't make your skin look red-y the way pinks can. Dust the peachy colored blush on the apples of your cheeks blending out slightly along your cheekbones towards your hair line. Bronzer will help to further warm up your skin and give it dimension but even the lightest bronzer can make pale skin look dirty so use a face powder that's one shade darker than your skin tone instead. Just dust along your nose and forehead for a beautiful faux tan.

Now it's time for lips. To keep your lipstick from looking harsh and goth, use this trick after you line and fill in lips with a nude make up pencil. Follow it with a layer of a not too wet lip balm to dilute the intensity of the lipstick that you're going to apply. Then brush a bit of face powder over the balm. This will soak up the extra moisture in the balm so that your lipstick has something to cling onto. And finally apply a peach or soft brown lipstick over the powder.

It may be the lighting in the video, but that model does not have fair skin. Looks like her skin is a more medium tone, and a very orange-tan one at that. The advice in the video is pretty good, but why wouldn't they get a real fair skinned model to demonstrate the techniques? Not to mention -- the makeup they had on the model wasn't very flattering. She's gorgeous, but her skin looked really greasy.

The model isn't really fair skinned?

I have very fair skin and just started using peach blush last year and I love it.

The model has a medium skin tone so this tutorial doesn't really work...I'm sorry...

oh my! i cant believe they think this makeup looks good! eew! she looks like a greasy hot mess! show me a video with a real pale beauty, not a fake baked one... if this is what they call pale, then i must be "transparent"! :P

I have pale skin but all this does is give you a peach colored face. I wear a nice berry colored lipstick and use black mascara. I like my make up technique.

Is this a joke? She's not pale or even close to it and that fake tan looks trashy.

If that model is "pale," then I guess I'm pale too... but last time I checked, I was on the tan side.
