Makeup Tutorial: How To Apply False Eyelashes
You can look like you just got lash extensions ... without spending $400
Transcript
First, cut the lash strip to the right length, 1/16 of an inch shorter than the width of your natural lashes. Use black or brown liquid liner to color in the strip that connects the lashes and let it dry. This little step helps camouflage the fake lash strip once you're wearing it.
Now apply the glue to the lash strip and wait one minute till glue is tacky. Tap with a makeup brush. When it grabs and stretches, you're ready to apply. Doing this step right is the true secret to applying fake lashes. ... read more
The makeup tutorials often suggest starting with the inner corner, but we find it easier to match up the center of the lashes to the center of your lid first. This will give you an anchor while you get the inner and outer edges mounted correctly.
Once the strip is in the right place, use this old Hollywood secret to blend them perfectly into your normal lashes: Take the stick of a makeup brush and gently roll the skin on your lid downward gently so it touches down over the top of the fake lashes. This sticks a very small edge of your skin over the base, so the fake lashes look like they’re growing from your lids, not sitting on top of them. Now curl the lashes and apply mascara.

I have applied false lashes both ways, pre-makeup and post-makeup. I find that it hides the lash line better if you apply it post-makeup, you know in case you don't get the strip exactly along your lash line. I've been wearing lashes for over 10 years (I started young, lol) and it just takes patience. I still "mess up" all the time! If the whole strip scares you, try individual lashes. It's a little more precise and you have more control. Just add a few at the outside corners for a great effect. Have fun trying!
