If you couldn’t resist picking your pimple or it's just a big one, use a cotton ball to apply a bit of astringent. The drying ingredients in the astringent will help soak up the moisturizer and if it's really bad just repeat until it's all dried out. You probably heard about that old beauty pageant secret of using Visine to take the red out of your blemish, but believe it or not it actually does work. All you have to do is use your finger to tap a drop over the bump and the blood vessel in there will shrink. The effect will only last a few hours so do this right before you go out. ... read more
Now it's time to conceal with makeup. You'll get a better result if you apply your concealer before your foundation. You want to use one that actually matches your skin tone. Going one shade lighter will actually highlight your blemish – save that product for dark circles.
Now the tricks to concealing. To prevent bacteria from contaminating your makeup sponges or brushes and causing addition breakouts on other area of your face, use a Q-Tip to apply directly to the head the product. Just use the cotton top to dot it on right on the head of the blemish. Then use a stippling motion dotting repeatedly to blend around the bump. Now before you apply the foundation, you want to set the concealer with powder so the foundation won't simply rub the concealer off. Just take the corner of a makeup sponge and dip in your face powder. Gently roll the powder over the bump. Now you can apply your foundation and finish your makeup as usual.

Was that a pimple or a birth mark? The visine thing was cool I guess.

i dont agree that you should put the concealer on before the foundation because when you go to put foundation over it the concealer will slide and move resulting in you havng to put MORE concealer on and it could end up cakey, attracting attention to the area. Instead I would put foundation on first and if this does not cover then go over lightly with concealer patting over the spot and blending outwards

Agreed with NYVTME. If I happen to pick too much, something like Polysporin or Neosporin clears it up in 1-2 days, but depending on how big the blemish is, it could take up to a week.

haha, I agree with Sumerr123, usually zits are round, plump and protrude. The zit in this video was flat, red and tiny ... not a good example for the video. It's a good tip anyways.

what really works is to put calimyne (or however you spell it) lotion or the "pink stuff" on your zit. it dries it out over night and it done by the morning. Believe me it really works!

Of course a zit that tiny would be a breeze to conceal. They should have been more realistic with how the zit looked. But good tips, anyways.

The best kept secret that manufacturers never want you to learn is to also apply Triple Antibiotic Ointment to a blemish. This prevents scarring. My dermatologist recommended and I did this everyday and night on a large blemish and it really worked at keeping the scar to a minimum. All those lotions are meant to keep skin moist. This does that even better! I even apply to a blemish then apply concealer and foundation over. Truly works!

You shouldn't apply makeup to an open zit anyway...just creates a large zit.

It wasn't very clear and I disagree about putting concealer on before foundation because then the foundation would just smudge the concealer making you put on more concealer.
