Gorgeous colors but ...
I own probably a dozen Stila shadows. Some of the matte colors are a little chalky. The shimmery colors are gorgeous (I especially love Diamond Lil) and super smooth in texture, but the colors get muddy when you try to blend them and there is a bit of fallout. If you only plan on using one shade as an all over color, or using a matte shadow with it, or a shadow from another brand, you'll have more success. It is a little annoying that you have to buy a separate case for them, or just leave them in the little plastic clamshell containers, but I kind of like how easy it is to change my palettes! The pans are nice and large and hold a lot of product, and are a decent value. Good pigmentation, last almost all day, and they do come in good colors. Oly downside is you have to buy a refillabel compact. Great!
I really liked stila eye shadows. I got a trio set as a gift, and was pleasantly surprised. The shimmery ones look very nice, definitely not cheap, because the shimmery particles are quite fine. The pigmentation is amazing, no need to apply dozens of layers, they stay on rather well too. The purple one I have looks amazing on my hazel eyes- brings out all the green! Nice Shadow
I got this in ever popular Kitten. It was a nice neutral, but basic pinkish beige. It had a bit of a shine and shimmer to it--nice for very smooth lids. It was a fine, silky powder that applied and blended nicely and lasted. It could come in a better quality container for the price. Smitten with Kitten!!!
These eyeshadows are phenom, nothing beats Urban Decay but imo these make MAC shadows look like garbage!!! Kitten is my HG, I also enjoy Java and Twig. The texture, pigmentation.... just everything about these shadows is great. Beautiful on certain complexions
A friend of mine once told me that I'm the only person she knows who looks good when I wear clothes and makeup that make it look "like a nursery exploded on me." In other words, my light eyes, skin, and hair look pretty in pastels. Hence, almost all of Stila's eyeshadows look lovely on me. I especially recommend Sun (a shimmery, golden peach) and Go Lightly (a dark, shimmery bronze), especially for those with blue or green eyes. Aside from the colors and the smooth, easy-to-apply texture, the flimsy pans these come in suck. And it sucks even more to have to buy a separate case for them, as they're already quite pricey. Too Sheer & Shimmery
I decided to revisit these recently & was reminded of why I didn't like them in the first place. The shades are too sheer & too shimmery. Kitten is my color
I love the texture and easy blending ability of Stila shadow. Kitten has sparkle but it doesn't look girly but rather very sexy and playful.
