Nars Loose Powder Reviews

A+ for product, C for packaging
You can ask anyone I know or work with and they will tell you what a Nars addict I am. I absolutely LOVE this brand. Don't get me wrong, there are products within the line that I don't like--that's typical with any brand. I heard amazing things about the loose powder. Normally, I just go with the Make Up For Ever translucent powder which I still LOVE, but I heard amazing things about this. It's "tripled milled" so you get the finest-grained powder imaginable. This comes with a pretty little white puff that is machine washable. A lot of people complain that the puff doesn't fit in the package, but that doesn't bother me at all. The powder has a plastic cover with holes, and then a removable mesh net that fits on top to sift and refine the powder even more. This is the WORST part of this product. This allows the product to get everywhere if you're not careful. One thing that helps is to gently shake it side by side, or to place and press the puff on top of the holes and quickly tilt it. I would love to redesign this packaging if I was ever offered the opportunity (one of my dreams is to work for Nars! LOL!). The case is cute (as with ALL Nars products), but it's a matter of getting used to the packaging. Luckily, there is a LOT of product so you really get your money's worth, even if you waste a little bit. Something that works is to buy a mini loose powder container with a sifter if it really bothers you. Back to the product--I absolutely ADORE this product. The first couple of times I was a little skeptical despite my Nars addiction, but the more I use this, the more I LOVE it. This is NOT a powder foundation like Bare Minerals or Smashbox Halo powder. This is a VERY sheer powder, almost like a tinted translucent powder similar to Bare Minerals' Mineral Veil, except this is much more refined and smoother. This makes your skin look so smooth and poreless. There are several different tints so the sheer powder enhances your foundation (if you wear it, or even if you don't!). This gives you one of the most amazing finishes that most other powders don't even come close to creating. There is a trick to applying this powder--you want to use a sponge or a puff--do NOT use a brush! (you can use a brush but you won't get the best result) These are Francois' words himself! The way the powder is made is that it goes on better when it is sponged on your skin. Even though this will make your skin smooth, flawless, and won't give you a cakey, powdery look--my absolute favorite is to mist LIGHTLY afterwards with a setting spray or Evian spray to adhere the powder together that's going to give you the most natural, smoothest, perfect finish that even my former favorite Make Up For Ever HD setting powder can't match. I LOVE THIS POWDER!!! — 1 year, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Nars Loose Powder
I have used quite a few NARS products, and have always been very happy with the quality and the finished look I get from them. The loose powder is no exception. I have found it to be so nice that I use it instead of foundation and it leaves my skin looking good as well as evenly toned. It lasts very well, and I am extremely oily, so that is a great bonus for me. It's texture is really silky and it has never gone chalky on me even if I have to touch it up. The package is nice, I use a foundation brush to apply it, and then I blend it out with a flocked sponge. I don't have to use very much either and it lasts very well. Any time I can get away with using less of a product, I am happy. It never looks over done and the shades are really natural, no weird peaches or pinks, just really natural colors that look great while setting or finishing your makeup. — 3 years, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 4 people said helpful

Nars Loose Powder
After seeing makeup reviews by top artists on this product, I had to have it. I like to have a matte finish, especially in my t-zone and that's exactly what this powder gives me. Not to mention, the package is huge. This will last you a very long time. The included puff is nice quality, but just a little too big for my face. I like a smaller puff for precision and contours. Nice, fine-milled and non-irritating. — 2 years, 11 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 4 people said helpful

love it!
I decided to try nars loose powder because it was something different than i normally wear. I think I'm sticking with it! I love the way it makes my skin feel and how it controls excess oil. — 4 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

finest loose powder
I have been a NARS fan for its make-up line. I own several NARS blush and decided to try out this loose powder. This is by far the finest loose powder I've used. I have it in Eden and it controls shine and excessive oil throughout the day. It sets foundation and make your make-up look softer. It is actually very affortable considering how big the container is. — 5 years, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 4 people said helpful

Great quality and performance!
This loose powder is perfect for setting makeup in the mornings as it will last through 8 hours with minimal touch ups (or none at all). This was surprising to me as I have combination skin. It did not appear chalky or too "powdery" like poor quality loose powders. Decent shade collection - "Beach" works well for my yellow-toned med/fair skin. There are more finely milled loose powders out there, but this did not detract from the overall quality. I was impressed. — 5 years, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful
