Burt's Bees Shea Butter Hand Repair Creme Reviews

Excellent cream; Poor smell
I have to agree with other reviewers. This is an excellent cream, but the smell is not pleasant. I couldn't in good conscience give it a 3 or 4, and base the entire review on the odor alone, but I do want to emphasize that it is certainly not the worst spelling cream, but if you are used to perfumey creams, this one certainly is not it. I was going to take it to work to use, but I won't be doing that. However, the cream is rich, thick and luxurious. It has far more pluses than minuses! A small amount is all you need; maybe the size of 2 peas. What I also really like about this cream is that the moisture lasts; it really binds to the skin and keeps the moisture in. It is perfect for the winter and if you have extremely dry skin prone to chapping from the wind and cold, I would definitely recommend this cream. — 4 months, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

works good but smells bad
It moisturizes and softens your hands but the smell is absolutely awful. Not recommended that you put this on in public. — 4 years, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Thick
The Shea butter hand creme that i have is in a yellow and metal tube. Has same wording on it.....anyhoo, this creme comes out very slow and thick. The aroma honestly doesn't remind me of Shea butter at all. I would guess this is for hands in dire need of repair. It's heavy so I wouldn't recommend as just your average hand cream. I've used this probably 4 times since I've had it and tags been close to a year now. I have quite a collection of Burt's products but this on(I hate to say) is on the bottom of my list. I would suggest they add a touch of cocoa butter to soften the smell to make pleasant/bearable. I'm not a fan of this item, but again if you need extensive hand protection this is for you. Kind of reminds me of something that would've been in my grandmas cabinets ages ago. — 1 month, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Worst lotion I've ever used
The freebies at hotels work better for me than this did. For one thing, it smells disgusting. Not just unpleasant, but disgusting. For another, it simply never moisturized my hands at all - which was astonishing since this is not a low-strength "lotion" but actually markets itself as "hand repair cream." This was a big waste of money. — 3 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

One of the weird ones...
Unlike most, I love the smell of this product. It is strong, but it smells of soap and incenses, along the lines of nag champa. It reminds me of hanging out in the natural health food stores, hippie shops, & the art district in the town I went to college. Definitely a nostalgic scent for me, but I can say this creme really works. The outer knuckles on my right hand were terribly rough and cracked. Nothing seemed to help, until a friend gave me this product because she hated the smell. Using this creme at least once a day for a week has gotten my hands back to normal! I'll never go without it! Gave it a nine because after a week, there still is a little bit of roughness on my pinky knuckle, but I'm sure that'll be gone in another week's time! — 3 years, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

works wonderfully!
This hand cream works great; it's thick but doesn't make your hands greasy. It moisturizes extremely well. Great for hands, feet, elbows, and knees. I'm only giving it a 9 because it has a very strong medicinal smell. I've had people say oh what smells like lavender if they're a little away from me, but as soon as I tell them to smell it up close they smell the not so pleasant odor. — 3 years, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

An awesome cream!
I used to work in an environmental lab where hand washing constantly was a must. This product really helped keep the hands from chapping and irritation. The good: Fairly thick, very moisturizing. A little went a long way for me. My hands felt great for hours after every application. The bad: Not really bad to me, but the smell is slighly medicinal somewhat. It wasn't very strong to me and it has a natural smell, no added essential oils. You can't really smell the cocoa butter but I think it's the smell of the shea. Over all, a great product! — 4 years, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Not my favorite hand cream...
Maybe I have a bad batch or something but when I put it on it doesn't feel like cream at all. It's thick and then when you start to rub it in it turns into an extremely oily substance. The smell is also awful... bearable but still awful! I'm almost done with the tiny tube that I have and I don't foresee myself purchasing it again. — 4 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful
