I cannot stand this toner primarily for the fact that the two main ingredients are super drying alcohols and it also contains witch hazel and menthol, there is absolutely nothing good about this product. This is one of the products that I always have to have. My ritual goes likes this: I use the st. ives invigorating scrub. Then after I shower, I use this toner/astringent. After it dries I use the vaseline petroleum jelly cream. The end result? Clear, glowing, and smooth skin! This product eliminates the dirt and leaves a tingly sensation. I have been trying out different toners for the past six months for my combination and break-prone skin. Most recently I finished using a bottle of this product and found it to be effective in freshening up my face (especially in summer). You only need to use a small amount. However, if I used this more than once a day, it would dry out my skin. If you have sensitive skin, I do NOT recommend this product - it may be a bit on the harsh side. I thought toner was just toner until I found this. I just grabbed another one when I didn't find anymore of this stuff and that was a mistake, because I broke out. I have a very oily T Zone as well as acne and I guess without realizing it actually helps control it. Plus I like the refreshing feel it leaves, which I haven't been able to find in other brands. This product is fresh, smells good and it no doubt tones. However when I started using this product it was so harsh to my skin that it gave me a significant break out in spots. It took me a while to realise what was causing the break out and it was only when I stopped using the toner that my break out cleated up. The problem with this product is that it is too harsh, if you have dry skin it will even sting. The in I have since started using the Liz Earle toner and I have never looked back.
