Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion Reviews

I'm not a sinner...
I tried this in Sin and it just didn't work for me. I found it seperated and litterally "fell apart" everywhere I applied it. I almost feel like you have to have a perfect canvas for this to really look good. Sadly I returned my "Sin" today. — 1 year, 8 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 2 people said helpful

Can't live without it
It really does live up to the hype around it. This makes my shadows blend easily, makes the color really pop and best of all makes my shadows last all day! I've repurchased several times and i cannot live without this. The only downside of course is the package because whilst pretty, you lose out on a LOT of product due to the design and the only way of getting to it is to hack the prettiness to pieces with a knife. Urban Decay should consider putting this in pot form or something to that effect to help with this problem. I can't recommend this product enough! — 4 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

FINALLY comes in a squeeze tube!
I guess the folks at UD really listen to their customers, so many costumers complained that they couldn't get all the product out of the wand tube, they changed it! Mind you, Too Faced already had their eye primer in a squeeze tube (which is what i've been purchasing) but since i always use UD's Sin Eye shadow as a base for my eyes, i may just buy the Sin primer to save a step! Best Eyeshadow Primer
Neutral colour won't change the shade of your eyeshadow, blends easily, gives smooth coverage, not dry or cakey. Helps eyeshadow last all day. I have never been let down by this product. A must-have in my makeup bag! — 5 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Perfect
...no creases. Acts as a magnet to eyeshadows. Cut the bottle in half to get more for your money though! A lot of it gets trapped in the weird bottle. — 4 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

decent product
I too brought this product as a result of all the hype. It does what it promises- extends the wear of your eyeshadow, although if you have really long days (like I do) and live more humid weather, your eye makeup will still look a little worn by the end of the day. But I'd certainly say it beats having your eyeshadow crease and disappear before your lunch break! Also, like some other people mentioned, the folks at Urban Decay have designed the most absurd shape for a tube bottle. You pay the $15 for this product and it runs out within a month! A lot of the product gets trapped in the curvy part of the top. I cut the tube in half and transferred it to a plastic jar that I got a MAC sample in and got a few more weeks of use out of it. — 5 years, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 8 of 8 people said helpful

Not Exactly a Genie in a Bottle
It does what it is meant to, prime. As a primer "potion," this sets eyeshadow well onto the eyes without creases and smudges through out the day but I found it a little difficult to work with, especially with certain eyeshadows. Urban Decay eyeshadows seem to blend well, however matte shades, I found that it left colors somewhat streaky or more pigmented in certain areas. This leaves eyeshadows vibrant and has staying power. Lancome Color Design eyeshadows seem to be the worst with this formula as they stuck well enough to hardly blend. Yet still, I'm trusting this product when it's nights at the club when there is heavy duty power needed to keep my eye makeup looking fresh. For $16.00, I have to admit is a steal, because it does last through out so many applications. The only issue is the packaging, product gets caught in the sides and it ends up not being used and thrown. My recommendation is to cut the tube, empty it out onto an air tight jar, for easier access and to get the most out of the product. — 4 years, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

I use it everyday!
I use several different types of shadows and this primer really helps keep them in place. First a few tips when using this stuff. Don't use too much! Usually I wipe the excess off the applicator onto the lip of the jar and use what is left for both my eyelids. I have fair skin so I just blend it up towards my brows. I find the thinner application doesn't make the color "pop" as much but it still keeps my shadow from creasing. I've had the same bottle for about two months and there is still more inside. This is a must if you are using loose powder mineral make-up and useful if you want your regular shadow to last through the day. I found that is helped keep my creme shadows on longer, but I still had to reapply after about 6 hours. Blarg! Packaging!
I absolutely despite the packaging on this. I have the old bottle, and it's impossible to get the rest of the product out! It's a bit greasy and you might be put off by it, but after it dries and you apply your eye makeup, it really makes it stay and not crease! I have very oily skin, so am prone to creasing but this really helps. I also don't think you get that much, but you really just need a smear for each lid. — 3 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

a staple!
i was, of course, introduced to this as a "cult favorite" right off the bat and it certainly did not disappoint. back in the day, when i would neglect to wash my makeup off at night (i do now! i swear!) this stuff kept my eyeshadow looking impeccable even after sleeping all night. amazing! i've been using this for years and it has never let me down. keeps shadows in place and makes it easier to apply shadow evenly (your whole lid holds on to shadow during application which allows for even application and blending). a wonderful product and definitely worth the cult following — 2 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 5 people said helpful
