Some oil control
The Peter Thomas Roth Max Anti-Shine Mattifying Gel is just alright, like most of the other mattifying products I have tried. To start out this product is pretty expensive for such a small amount! But it takes very little to use on your face so it does last quite a while. This is also the weirdest formula of anything I have ever tried. It says it is a gel, but it is almost solid, kind of in balls. It does not squeeze out of the tube, I have to dig my finger into it, which is not sanitary, and it gets very difficult to get the product out. It feels nice on my skin though, very much like a silicone primer. It does not feel heavy on my skin. I don't wear foundation over it, just concealer and powder, so I am not sure how this would perform with foundation on top of it, but it says it can be used under, over, or without makeup. Overall this performs just ok. My skin feels very matte at first, but over time gets slightly oilier throughout the day. After several hours it tends to completely wear off, and by the end of the day I am super oily! I also suspect that this product might be breaking me out, but I am not completely sure. Overall, this product is just ok. I would NOT recommend this to anyone with super oily skin like me, but if you have combination skin this could be great! — 7 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Works Okay for Short Term
This product seems to work pretty good for a few hours then my skin gets oily. Probably works best on skin that is normal/oily rather than just oily. It does do well under makeup though. Does not cause caking or streaking. It seemed to work better for me when I wore makeup over it than just wearing it alone. — 5 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 3 people said helpful
