Smashbox Emulsion Lip Exfoliant Reviews

Soothing
First things first: the exfoliation is minimal with this product. That is because they have basically a gloss that has some sugar and some microbeads mixed in the formula. The sugar and beads do some exfoliating, but you don't get them every time you use the product, and even when you do, the results are minimal. I adore this product even though it is misleading in it's label. The mint is very soothing and fresh feeling on the lips, while the texture is like butta! It keeps my lips moisturized when I'm putzing around the house, but because it is sort of messy - especially if you tried to use it as an exfoliant and you end up with it outside of your lip line. I will repurchase because I love the mint in the formula. — 4 years, 8 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Not Worth It
I tried this exfoliant and was not pleased with it. While it does have a pleasant smell, the smell alone won't exfoliate your lips. It was very oily in consistency and the larger granules, while they looked plentiful in the tube, were actually sparse when dispensed. It was hard to exfoliate with such sparse granules and an attempt to get out more just wasted product. Not only was it messy,it did not feel good on my lips and did not remove easily. I didn't notice any benefits from using it. I would not purchase this again. — 4 years, 10 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

expensive
this does its job, but i'd just as soon use a dry washcloth to make my lips smooth. its too expensive for what it does. — 1 year, 10 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Smashing
I admit this is a bit of a luxry product-kind of high priced for how much you get and not the most essential item in my beauty collection. But it is kind of cool. Literally as it has a fresh minty smell and feel-taste too. You can't help that if you put it on your lips!! It does a nice job of de-flaking your lips so you can put gloss or moisturizer on them-lipstick right away is a little drying after use. But it is a good product. — 3 years, 11 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Pricey But Good
This has saved my perpetually chapped lips. It's gentle but pretty effective, smells wonderful and I've had great results using it just a few times a week instead of every day. I just wish it was a bit less expensive. — 3 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Waste of MONEY!
I wish I had never bought this! It is so expensive & USELESS. The sugar doesn't melt (good thing) but the stupid poppy seeds are annoying. You have no control with the seeds & the sugar granules are scratch & hard to manuver. I love the peppermint smell but if you taste the product.. it's oily & gross. I made a better DIY lip scrub than this. My fingers & lips are all greasy after using this & it is no at all moisturizing. — 3 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

I bought this on a whim, and I'm in love!
I have perpetually chapped lips all year long and this stuff is just great! Its a mild sugar-type scrub but there are enough oils in it to make your lips feel perfectly moisturized when you are done scrubbing lightly. I have used it both in the shower (wet) and also dry and it works great either way. The tube I bought about 10 months ago still has some left so it does last quite a while - a little goes a long way. Also, it has a lovely minty smell but unlike other minty products it does NOT leave any cold feeling on your lips. The only negative thing about this product is the little black sesame seed things that are suspended in it (not sure why) - they really do not add anything to the exfoliation or moisturizing process and they sometimes got in my mouth, which was annoying. — 3 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

OK
I love the way this makes your lips soft, but I've used products that have way more buffering agents in them. Not really worth the money. — 4 years, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

SOO MINTY
I love the smell and how it tingles fresh on your lips. It not the best (like other reviews there are many natural better ways) but its great once and a while and you can carry with you everywhere. — 4 years, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful
