Beautiful packaging BUT.....

These lip glosses are too strongly fragranced. I love the shine, the cute packaging, the wand, the color but just too heavily perfumed that I feel like I was tasting perfume the whole entire time. I had to return this since I don't like my cosmetics too perfumey.

Mauve Mystique - Gorgeous But Very Strongly Scented!

Saw this on a beauty guru on Youtube and it was so pretty and understated, I had to get it. BOGO 50% off. I bought Mauve Mystique and Signature Scarlet. These are lip glosses with a spade-shaped wand that is, well, very fuzzy. Despite the lipstick-looking packaging, it IS a lip gloss, so don't be confused. The fragrance is really strong and smells like mixture of candy and lilacs. Don't notice it ...read morevery much after I put it on, but while applying, it is a very strong scent, unfortunately. But it goes on smooth and opaque with amazing coverage for a gloss. Shiny without being "too much". Feels moisturizing on my lips. The two colors I bought are creams with no shimmer, which I love for my easily chapped lips. Reapply often, because this gloss does not last - I get less than an hour of wear but it's a gloss so I expect it. Mauve Mystique is so incredibly pretty ~ a deep mauve with blue undertones that goes on lighter in color than in the tube. I've worn this nonstop since I got it. Signature Scarlet is a bright slightly orange-based red and will need a few coats to achieve a fully smooth coverage. But it's a quick and easy red lip - good for a night out when you want the color but don't want to be bothered by a careful application of lipstick and liner. If you wear a liner with this gloss, make sure to do a full application - this gloss wears off so quickly and can be patchy so you'll want to have a smooth color underneath. Update: I started getting headaches from the scent and had to put the gloss away for a while. I'll only be using it sporadically from now on, although I love the color. If you hate scented products, stay away from this one!

Maybelline Sensational Lip Color

I absolutely love Maybelline Sensational from the eye catching packaging down to the gloss itself. The price is not bad at all. The smell is amazing and Goes on very smooth not sticky at all. Absolutely moisturizing and creamy. It doesn't stay on long, but I dont expect any lip gloss to stay on. The colors go on sheer and leaves a gorgeous shimmer on your lips. The shimmer is not over powering but...read more subtle. This is a good look if youre looking for a natural gloss with just enough pigmentation. I myself love extremely pigmented colors with over the top shimmer but its good when I want to switch it up. The brush applicator adds a great amount of gloss and leaves a polished look. I looked up to see who many different colors they have, looked at swatches and ended up running to three different places to get all the ones that were out of stock. I went to walmart, target, walgreens then ended up at CVS to finally find the color fuchsia florish, which nobody could keep enough bof it in stock hence being quite the hot commodity. Im glad I went to CVS because I found a color I never seen at the other stores, only online which was petal plush. Ladies its gorgeous. All the colors I bought are beautiful. The captivating coral is a stunner. Ive tried them all with different lip liners put it on over lipstick and made several different gorgeous hues although looks great by itself.

Not what I thought

I picked this up at a drugstore without reading any reviews first. Because of the packaging, I thought I was getting a high-shine lipstick. I didn't realize until after I spent about 5 minutes wondering why I couldn't open the package like a normal lipstick that it was actually a lip gloss you apply with a brush. I was slightly disappointed because I don't prefer to use lip gloss, but this one see...read morems pretty enough. The color was heavily pigmented so i used just a little bit and it was nice. Very glossy but not too sticky. It didn't stay on my lips very long, which is one of the main reasons I stay away from lip glosses in general. But that's my fault for not making sure I knew what I was buying.

Not Low-Maintainence--Needed Liner to Make it Work (Signature Scarlet, Celestial Coral)

The colors are beautiful (I bought Signature Scarlet and Celestial Coral), but expect to practice to figure out the right amount of product you need. The applicator wand deposits way too much, and so you'll want to scrape some back into the tube. It feels a little more sticky than I'd like, but it still felt moisturizing. I definitely didn't like the fragrance and taste of this product, though. It...read more's a little heavy, and I'm sensitive to floral fragrances in lip products (a faint vanilla would be much better for those of us who are sensitive to fragrances ). This product migrates a lot, so lip liner is definitely in order. I had the best luck with either a clear liner or one the exact color of my natural lip color. Once you get the hang of all this, the colors are really pretty, though. It all depends on how much you're willing to experiment!
